I have a MA in Mental Health Counseling and have been licensed since December 2010. I was an active duty Marine from 1984-1991 and am a Desert Shield/Desert Storm vet. I specialize in Substance Abuse and Trauma issues,including combat trauma, and have a great deal of experience in those areas. I also have experience with Depression, Complex Grief, and Generalized Anxiety as these issues tend to exist with Substance use and Trauma.
Everyone gets stuck from time to time. Maybe your family and friends don't have experience with what you are going through? Your support system wants to help and they tell you they understand, but you know that they can't because they haven't been where you have been. I have been where you have been and I get it.
